My Approach 

My training enables me to work in a range of different ways, depending on your needs and what you feel comfortable with, rather than having one fixed approach. Many people find that having a space to focus on themselves is a healing experience in itself. Some people find developing an understanding about how the body and mind respond to stress and trauma helpful. Therapy might help us to notice certain patterns of behaviour and ways of relating to others. Some people like to explore these patterns further to better understand themselves and as a starting point to make some changes.  

Counselling and psychotherapy are 'talking therapies' so talking is the way in which we will usually explore your thoughts and feelings in the sessions. Some people prefer to work in a more practical way, for example using creative activities and exercises to support this exploration and learning techniques to help manage stress and anxiety. It all depends on you and what you feel comfortable with.
