anxiety and depression

stress & burnout

Are you feeling stuck? Does it seem like you are:
  • Permanently 'frazzled' and overwhelmed with life, knowing something needs to change but unable to see a way through
  • Suffering after a bereavement or other loss, wondering if you can ever feel yourself again
  • Struggling to 'block out' memories and feelings from a difficult or abusive childhood yet knowing in order to move on you need support
Maybe it's time to:
  • Work towards understanding your current situation and identify some strategies to help
  • Spend some time focusing on your feelings and needs
  • Talk through the impact of your current lifestyle and work / life balance identifying changes you can make before things escalate further
  • Seek support to understand your loss, exploring your emotions in an uncensored way in order to find a way to continue without the person who has gone
  • Start to process when happened to you, identyfing and gently working through the impact of abuse

When we find ourselves in a difficult place it's easy to push our problems to the back of our minds, hoping that things will get better with time.  Sometimes this can happen, and a situation may resolve itself. However, often, ignoring our problems and 'burying out head in the sand' can exacerbate them. This can lead to more serious mental health problems including anxiety and depression. I can help you by giving you space to explore what's going on for you and helping you make some changes.
How therapy can help
Therapy allows us, in a safe confidential space, to explore the circumstances we find ourselves in and our emotional and behavioural reactions to these circumstances. It's allows a space to examine how we might like things to be, considering what is getting in the way. This new self-awareness can be a powerful trigger for change.

Please see FAQs for further details including what to expect in the first session. I am happy to talk by phone, text or email to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.
These are just some of the scenarios people who seek counselling might be experiencing:
  • feeling overwhelmed and unable to see a way through
  • feeling that something doesn’t feel quite right
  • struggling after a relationship breakup
  • wondering if a difficult childhood, traumatic event or abusive relationship is having an impact on life now
  • feeling alone
  • feeling trapped or bored with your current circumstances
  • juggling responsibilities e.g. parenthood, work and domestic activities & struggling to find time any 'me' time
  • wanting to improve relationships with others / how relate to others
  • wanting to develop self-awareness
